So, just as my title suggests, I have been "feeling a little blah" lately. I feel like I have put my health on the back burner. I know that it is an easy thing to do when you have a family, and there needs come before your own, but It has been weighing me down, LITERALLY.! I am still hanging on to twenty extra pounds of baby weight. Can it still be considered baby weight when your baby is now nine months? YIKES!! Keep in mind that question is completely rhetorical. So instead of being a baby, and obsessing on my weight issues, I decided to do something about it. I have been waking up early and walking around this beautiful city that I grew up in. Let me tell you, It has made a HUGE difference. My days are better, my attitude is more positive, and I am easier to live with (my husband can attest to this!). I already feel so much healthier. I have energy throughout my days, and I have been allot kinder to myself. The walks are beautiful. The sun is shining,(THANKFULLY), the birds are chirping, and I am completely alone in thought. After I walked the bike path at the old park, I even stopped to swing for a few seconds. I'm sure the other joggers thought I was crazy, but I couldn't resist. The youthful feeling of swinging quickly came to an end when I decided to tip my head backward, which sent me spinning in a dizzy craze (BAD IDEA!!).

I ended my route with a familiar trail I used to walk, and bike ride with my dad when I was younger. The sound of the wheat wrestling around in the wind, was practically tranquil. I have been watching for fresh asparagus to sprout up along the ditch bank. I spotted wild cats, squirrels, birds, cows, and horses, but no such luck with the asparagus. I will be keeping my eyes peeled in mornings to come.

Each morning when my walk is about to come to an end and I reach my neighborhood, the smell of freshly cleaned laundry comes wafting out of Sister Krantz's home. It Makes me realize my peaceful alone time is coming to an end, and motivates me to get started on my daily tasks.

"When we truly care for ourselves, it becomes possible to care far more profoundly about other people. The more alert and sensitive we are to our own needs, the more loving and generous we can be toward others."- Eda LeShan
