Who says you can't recover a book?
We love the look of books for decorating.
We both wanted some in our lil' boys rooms.
So we came up with a fresh way to display books for decorating.
First, pick out your books.
(Hard cover works best!)
Next, choose your paper palate.
Then, dig out your Modpodge and sponge brush.
Cut your paper down to size and start applying the paper and Modpodge.
Now, press out all the bubbles and let the books dry.
(Close the books to dry, otherwise the paper will crack)
Sand the edges if you like and ink them too!
Next, add accessories.
And now you will have the FINISHED PRODUCT!
And it is ready to display!
Run now, and go get your Modpodge on!!
I am copying. Hope you don't care. These are fantastic!

This is such a great idea!! Did you know that you can take out all the pages of a book then pull the binder mechanism out of a mini 3 ring binder and screw it into the book spine? Then you can use the book as a mini scrapbook or photo album... These books would be so great to use that way too!!
ReplyDeleteTHanks for taking the time to post the tutorial!! I LOVE IT!
These are so adorable...I hope you don't mind, but I have been inspired, and am gonna make some myself!
ReplyDeleteThanks!

Very, very cute!!! What did you use to attach the embellishments?
ReplyDeleteVERY cute! I want to do this so bad! I bought scrapbook paper thinking I could use one page per book, but it doesn't wrap around correctly. How many pages did you use per book and Did you cut pieces for the front, back, and bind all separately?? Thanks!
