Gallery Wall

I am absolutely in LOVE with all the beautiful gallery wall displays.
 But let's face it....
I have small hallways and limited wall space, so clustering frames together would make me claustrophobic.
But I have had this idea for awhile to frame in, with molding, a piece of the wall and then collage picture frames.
Making it appear better balanced in my small space.

I first framed out my wall space.

I then painted the inside a stark white. I knew this would make everything pop. I started with stripes, but quickly decided that it was still too much for me. I needed to keep it clean and simple for this space.
So repainted the wall back to the stark white.

Once I had it framed in and painted, I also painted the molding black.
(Note to self....make the molding frame first, paint it, and then pin nail it on....That would have saved me some taping and retouching. )
Then I dug out my frame bin and started collecting all the frames I wanted to use for the wall!
I took them outside to spray paint them black and then started to piece each frame  together on the wall.
More frames dug out and painted......

And VOILA!
Picture Perfect Family Tree Wall.
I love how slim to the wall it all is. My hallways are narrow and it doesn't make me feel confined!

Now to collect which pictures I want up on the wall.
I am doing several with all kinds of trees, black n' white.
And the rest with pictures of our family!

Do you LOVE  it as much as I do??
I can't stop looking at it!
XOXO,
BON

Stop by soon for an updated wall with the pictures!

Of course those followers who have followed for a while know I'm a 80% and so I made this up...really not so hard...but did forget to take pictures along the way...so I thought I'd just share.
I'm JUST A LITTLE giddy about our newest-soon-to-be-arrival

Kitchen Redo Part 2

So after the tile in my kitchen was done, my sister-in-law and her mother took down all my cupboard doors fronts and helped me mold them in with molding.

SPECTACULAR!
( I am singing  that like Wheezy from Dragon TAILS)

And my husband spend quite some time filling holes and sanding them.
LURVE ya babe!

Then the priming! UGH!
Notice my front room, turned workshop!
YEAH! NOT!

I also changed the hardware. This is a step you should really consider if you want to redo your kitchen. Hardware can be pricey and you can spend more on hardware then on other supplies. So I picked up a can of this lovely spray paint!! $2.98 BABY!

Lined these nasty colored hinges up....

And gave them three coats. (tip...make sure they are cleaned and slightly sanded)
Look at the before and after! BIG difference!
DRABFABULAR!
(Also sung like Wheezy)

Then I have to admit,  after painting by hand and not getting the results I wanted,  a  friend came to the rescue! And when I say RESCUE, I mean RESCUE!
Can I get a hallelujah!!
(Rescued me from drowning in the many tears I cried over these darn cabinets, rescued my poor family from their mother who was verging psychosis due to a messy front room... err....I mean workshop! You get the point. Grateful and Thankful doesn't express how much it helped out that he took them and sprayed them! )

I originally planned to sand and glaze antique them. But after I saw how bright and fresh my kitchen looked. I decided to keep them nice and white!

So here is a before...

And after.....

before....

and after.............

 before......

and after..........

It is so fresh and BRIGHT!
("so fresh and so clean clean" ....name that commercial!)

I wish I could say I am finished....But I still have plans .

And I am redoing my island a dark rich  CHOCOLATE BROWN!

And I am thinking a nice green shade on the wall would be lovely instead of the red?
What do you think? I want your opinion!

Well, for now! That's all folks!

Hope you are fabulous!

My New Kitchen ReVAMPS....

This cute house had some TOTALLY drab features, and ones that REALLY freaked me out. Like the FLOOFY wood design around the China Hutch.  Of course this is the ONLY picture I took...so I had to make it work, and make you giggle...(I don't think my husband will giggle at this WRETCH Wretch-ditt-ally-ETCHED picture of him...hee hee hee!)

I am a little bit of a Rooster Nut...I kept telling myself I was going to accent in Pears to try to get away from the "barn theme"...BUT it just couldn't happen...Call me a "daddy's girl...." I love myself some Roosters and Chickens and I do LOVE me some COLOR...hence the walls got a "HELLO" revamp

I collected things from DI, (of course) along with somethings I've held onto for awhile knowing  I'd use them somewhere...sometime.  I am still looking for some more old pots and pan in the old retro colors to hang above the sink and add them here and there on the walls.

Goodie Goodie Gum Drops
All I needed was 2 Yards of the Chicken/Rooster material...found at your local walmart
2X 7/16" 48" Spring Tension Rods (also Walmart)
And RaNdoM old peices that POP
Good luck on ROCKIN' you little tricky spaces

Curtains

I lurve when I find sensational deals.
Awhile back I found two sheer panels for .50 cents each and hung them in my room. Although I liked them....I still needed two more. Then last week when I went thrifting, look what I found.

Brand new Sheer curtains. The exact same size as the other ones!

Oh yeah BABY!
(Another wacky dance from yours truly in the store.
I am sure the DI workers think I am on drugs!)

So after a total of $7.00 I went from semi plain window.....
to not so plain window!

I LURVE the sheer!
It was just the right amount of pop to my bedroom!

Details in Decorating

I feel like Drew Barry More off of never been kissed. Making a gazillion pillows for my bed. I love mixing patterns and designs. I can't sew anything fancy. Just simple straight lines ( and when I say straight, I mean as straight as my fast work can go). Pillows can be costly. But a little fabric from the fabric store can really go a long ways.
I sometimes am more timid with colors on the walls, but pillows are a perfect way to accessorize and add color!
