 When you have established what kind of pieces you want in your home. Make a list. Writing it down can help you when you are thrifting to remember what kind of items you are looking for. 

I am always on the look out for vases and pots. I LOVE them! All shapes and sizes. But let's face it- they aren't always in the colors I am wanting. But color is an easy fix. Paint can transform anything.

I found this lovely piece while thrifting with a friend. 

The color isn't awful, it just doesn't match my accent colors in my home.

So I grabbed my favorite green shade of spray paint.

 After a coat of spray it was ready to place above my cabinets.

All of these pieces were found at a thrift store. Including the candles. 

Why spend more, when you can spend less?

So the next time you want to accesorize your home, don't rule out some thrift store finds.

A little "REDO"

My list has been becoming quite long of all the little things, here and there, that need done or refreshed.

But I appreciate the New Year 'cause it brings on more motivation to do them!

First off...my BEDROOM.

Just needs a little refreshing!
Found these and knew they would be perfect for my bedroom!

Remember this $3.00 chair I redid over a year ago?

If not, here is the transformation.

Not bad! 

It has gone beautifully in my bedroom, but because I use my personal furniture for photog as well, it gets dirty fast. 

And this time it wasn't coming out!

YICKITY YIKES!!!

I then added the vinyl word KISS to the seat, and threw my new pillow on it...

And threw the other new pillow on the bed....

One new pillow and a new (well, new to me...$3.00 DI lamp) totally brightened this bed and end table up!
Perfectly refreshed for the New Year!

Dainty and Sweet

I love lamps!

I know I have said it a gazillion times, but it is true.
I REALLY do.

I  like the lamp in my little girls room, but have wanted something a tad more dainty, feminine, and tall.

So you could imagine my delight when I found this ditty at the thrift store for $4.00.

(That's right....I did a little "$4 holla dance" right there at the store.
I know what you are thinking "Oh no you didn't!" But OH YES I DID!)

 So I took this hunk of goldy yellow and glammed it up using these two paints.

I just mixed the two for a soft sweet pink.

 I then applied a  light coat...

And then sanded the edges.

I like the gold showing through.
It makes for a more antiqued feel.

Now it is ready to display!

 

I also found this old vintage pitcher and basin for $1.00.

Isn't it sweet?

Decorating Before and After

So a few of you have been emailing me, asking me to show another room. I apologize it has taken me awhile. I guess I figure most of you have seen it, but then I realized not to many have since I re-did it! So here are the before pictures of our front room-(how we walked through and viewed it)

BEFORE AND AFTER DECORATING

I finally am getting things how I want them in my house. So I thought it would be fun to share the before pictures (how we bought it or how it looked when we viewed this house ) and after pictures. How it is now!

This is the Master bedroom. This is how we walked through and viewed it. There was no molding around the windows and there was a light pinkish tan on the wall.
