Boys Bed Part 2

Remember this post?

When my hubby and made a bed from KNOCK OFF WOOD ?
And when I say ..."...and I" I mostly mean my hottie of a man slave!

Well, we finally got around to painting it!

Then I sanded the edges slightly.

And we gave it a nice stain coat. We used Dark Walnut.

And finally assembled it in the boys room!

Notice the mattress underneath?
We changed the plans slightly to leave room for a trundle. So that is our next project!
I absolutely love it!
I hated to show it to you without the new bedding. But that will have to be another post. When I am finished.
So keep watching for that post!

Don't you just LURVE?
I know I sure do!

Boys Bed Part 1

Have you checked out the Knock Off Wood site?
This lady, Ana,  is amazing!
And totally gives us all the  sweet hook-up!

I have been thrifting high and low for sometime to find the type of bed I had envisioned for my boys room.
Tall back ,smaller front.
But couldn't find one.
Finally after stalking (to put it lightly) the knock off wood site I found a bed so similar to what I had envisioned.

So after tweaking the plans slightly to adjust for a trundle bed.
We are well on our way to having it done.
(we heightened  all the legs and also built the back board/foot board a little taller)

Here is my man slave  (tehe) hard at work cutting wood.

Lots of boards and cuts later we have a foot board...

Lots more cuts and measurements and now we have the head board...

Now on to the side rails...
(sorry I forgot to take pictures as we went along)

This is coming together rather nicely and quickly.

All thanks to this guy!
When I say "  we"   worked on it together.
We did, but mostly him.
I really carried boards, helped measure, etc.

And as Mother Nature would have it, you can see in the pictures that it started to snow!
YES SNOW!!
ARGHHHHH!
So we got the bed sanded but the paint will have to wait until it warms up again!
So stay tuned!

Sofa table and picture frame

My creativelt talented sister Ali made a sofa table a while ago.
Then my other talented sister Hanna made her own version.
So of course, I had to try my own version.
And oh....how I LOVE It!

New Sofa table for my front room:

I love how it turned out! Plus more decorating space ~ Bonus!!

New Huge wall frame for above my fireplace:
Just a piece of scrap mdf.
I glued down three 50 cent frames I got at a yard sale. Then spray painted the whole thing black and added a knob.
Whole cost $1.50
That's right folks...a whole 6 quarters!

(Now I just need pictures to fill it!)

I lurve creativity!
